Senior Actuary

Gary T. Bayer, FSA, EA, MAAA joined Ekon Benefits as a Senior Actuary in 2011. He brings with him over 30 years of experience in performing actuarial valuations and consulting on various issues including plan design, statutory compliance, benefit administration, plan mergers, financial reporting, funding policy, contribution requirements, and employee communications.

Gary is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has been involved in committee work with the American Academy of Actuaries and has been a speaker at meetings sponsored by the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, the Society of Actuaries and the Bond Buyers Conference.

Gary graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and his background includes serving as the lead consultant for a wide variety of client types including those in the multiemployer, corporate, public, government contracting, and not-for-profit sectors. In addition to consulting directly with clients, Gary’s responsibilities include providing technical leadership to the staff of Ekon Benefits and keeping abreast of current issues and developments in the retirement arena.
