Senior Actuary

Dave Shaw joined Ekon Benefits in 2012. He has over 25 years of experience as a retirement actuary and consultant, working with both pension and retiree medical plans. He has worked on a multitude of projects over the years, including actuarial valuations, cost projections, mergers and spinoffs, plan design studies, benefit competitiveness and adequacy studies, union negotiations, and funding strategies. Dave also has significant management experience in terms of staff development and operations. He also participates in business development efforts.

Dave is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
